These photographs are about people, or dogs, doing what they love in places that matter to them. A sense of place is always part of the picture. I also try to keep things loose enough to leave room for a laugh.

I work much the same way whether I’m photographing paid talent on a commercial shoot or friends goofing around for the afternoon. I give people some direction when they need it, then try to get out of the way. The best images are composed, but feel instinctive.
